About / Amenities The Amizette Ghost Town History-The Town of Amizette was once a mining community in the late 1800's.  At one time it is estimated to have had a population of approx. 2000 people!  A woman by the name of Amizette ran a room and boarding house, for the miners and trappers in the area, this is now our lobby.  You can still find mining shafts and tailings on any of the hiking trails in the area.  Also, Amizettes sister community of Twining is just up the road, Twining is now known as Taos Ski Valley!
